Scion Staffing recognizes that our office, located in the San Francisco Bay area resides on the traditional village sites of the Ohlone group of indigenous people that include tribes such as the Chochenyo, Karkin, Ramaytush, Yokuts, and Muwekma, as well as the Graton Rancheria community consisting of the Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo tribes, the Kashaya, Patwin, Mishewal Wappo, and Bay Miwok groups who have made their homes next to the body of water known as the San Francisco Bay and in the area of San Francisco and Oakland, California.
Indigenous people of these tribes have tended the land, created tribal communities, and called this area their home for over the past 10,000 years. The Bay Area has deep roots with these tribes, and we must take the time to recognize and respect their past and help to be an ally for their future.
As a company that thrives on, and is committed to a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusion, it is imperative that we recognize our city of the greater Bay area is home to a community of diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, future—and are thankful for their presence to make our city in California a beautifully vibrant place.
